Agnes T. Busch age 92, of Tracy, MN died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Sanford-Tracy Medical Center in Tracy. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2009 at Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a rosary at 4:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM. One hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday, will be held at the church. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Tracy. The Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy is handling the arrangements. Agnes Teresa (Wyffels) Busch was born on June 27, 1916 to William and Anna (Stassen) Boerboom in Ghent, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended St. Eloi School in Ghent. As the oldest of eight children, she was dedicated to helping raise her younger siblings. Aggie remained at home until her marriage. On January 9, 1946 Aggie married Gordon J. Wyffels in Ghent. They made their home on a farm northwest of Tracy. She spent the next twenty eight years supporting the farm operation and helping raise their four children. She and Gordon were active members of St. Mary’s parish in Tracy. Aggie was a dedicated homemaker, seamstress and gardener. She had a special gift of hospitality, loving to entertain for card parties and various gatherings of family and friends. Aggie was also well known for her lemon meringue pie. Going to dances all around the area was a favorite pastime, and she and Gordie also hosted many dances in the basement of the family farm. A special achievement of Aggie’s in 1956 was selling the most subscriptions in a newspaper contest for the Marshall Messenger, of which, the winning grand prize was a 1957 Buick Special. Following Gordon’s sudden death in 1974, Aggie moved into Tracy. On September 4, 1980, Aggie married Earl A. Busch in Tracy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They spent twenty seven years wintering in Mesa, AZ, dancing, golfing and playing cards, with their friends and families. In later years Aggie also became an avid Minnesota Twins fan, watching almost all games to their completion and sharing play-by-plays with her family. On Sunday, June 14, 2009, Aggie peacefully left this world to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 92. She will be remembered for her smile, her zest for life and positive attitude, love for her family and friends, and her deep faith and prayer life. Agnes is suvived by her loving husband, Earl Busch of Tracy, MN; three daughters, Nancy (Ted) Vershey of Bloomington, MN, Sharon (Tom) Engels of Woodbury, MN and Janet (Ted) Middleton of St. Louis Park, MN; one son, Doug (Diane) Wyffels of Ft. Collins, CO; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Howard) Bromen of Marshall, MN and Shirley (Ken) Verschaetse of Ghent, MN; one brother, Harold (Pat) Boerboom of Glenwood, MN; one sister-in-law, LaVonne (Charles) Lutz of Marshall, MN; Earl’s two sons, Doug (Joanne) Busch of New Brighton, MN and Tom (Lorraine) Busch of Slayton, MN; two grandchildren, Andrew and Brianne; one great grandson, Logan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Her parents, first husband, Gordie Wyffels, grandson, Kory Vershey, grandson-in-law, Patrick Kampmeyer, three brothers, Don (Vivian), William “Billy” and Richie Boerboom, one sister, Margaret (Del) Fox, and sister-in-law, Betty (Omer) Peterson preceded her in death.
