Agnes M. Seykora age 104 of Tracy, formerly of Walnut Grove, MN died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM on Thursday until the time of service at St. Mary's. A luncheon will be served in the church social hall immediately after the service. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery in Litomysl, MN at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2012. The Almlie Funeral Homes of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Agnes Mary Seykora was born July 22, 1907 to Emil and Katherine (Parrat) Peterson in Tracy, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Tracy and she attended Tracy Public Schools.
On September 22, 1958 Agnes married Alphonse Seykora at St. Maryâs Catholic Church. They made their home for twenty five years on a farm near Owatonna, MN, where they farmed and re-upholstered furniture and after her husbandâs death in 1983, Agnes moved back to Tracy. Prior to her marriage, Agnes worked as a telephone operator for twenty seven and a half years in Tracy, Rochester and Pipestone.
Agnes was active over the years in both her church and her community. She was a member of St. Maryâs Catholic Church, where she was active in Catholic Christian Workers, Catholic Daughters, and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers, Senior Center Site Council and board member, Golden Age Club, Degree of Honor, and the Tracy Nursing Home Auxiliary, serving as its treasurer for fourteen years.
In October of 2005 Agnes became a resident of the Tracy Nursing Home, before moving to her own apartment in Country View Senior Apartments in Walnut Grove. In the fall of 2011 Agnes became a resident of Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy.
Although she had no children, Agnes is lovingly remembered by many, including her 19 nieces, nephews, 65 great nieces and nephews and many Great -great nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Her husband, Alphonse, her parents, four brothers, Harry, Leonard, Julius and Lester, and three sisters, Rosella Lindman, Violet Felix and Kathryn Bochm all preceded her in death.
