Alfred F. Miller age 91 of Tracy, MN died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be from 12:00(noon) until 2:00 PM also on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca, MN. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Alfred Frank Miller was born December 6, 1918 to Frank and Lucy (Barnes) Miller in St. Charles, MN, Winona County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended St. Charles Public Schools. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1938.
On June 12, 1951 Alfred married Jeanette Hanson in Waseca, MN. In 1941 Alfred went to work for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad, as a telegraph operator, and they moved to Tracy, MN in 1947. After forty years of service he retired in May of 1981 and remained a resident of Tracy.
Alfred was a member of Tracy Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Tracy Senior Citizenâs Center.
In January of 2008 Alfred became a resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, where he died Friday, September 17, 2010 at the age of 91.
Alfred is survived by his daughter, Mary (John) Podlesny of Iron River, WI; nieces, nephews and friends.
His wife, Jeanette, parents, Frank and Lucy Miller, one sister, Doris, one brother, Morris(Maurice), two nieces, Florence Moors and Bertha Haas preceded him in death.
