Alfred E. Voge age 83 of Tracy, MN died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Balaton, MN. Services will be 11:00 AM Satruday, April 3, 2010 at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery later this spring. A luncheon will be served following immediately after the service. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements. Alfred Elmer Voge was born March 14, 1927 to Herman A. and Marie L. (Haseleu) Voge in Springfield, MN, Brown County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and attended country school in his youth. He later attended Springfield High School, graduating in 1942. On November 25, 1951 Alfred married Betty J. Harden and they made their home on a farm near Springfield, until the mid 1960’s, when they moved to a farm near Walnut Grove, MN, where they raised their family. In the late 1970’s they moved to Tracy, MN and Alfred went to work as a hired hand on the Robert Syverson farm for many years. Alfred was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church and he enjoyed the outdoors, farming, gardening, hunting, bird watching, playing cards and especially visiting with family and friends. He moved into the Lakeview Estates in Balaton, MN in 2008 and on March 30, 2009 he became a resident of the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Balaton, where he died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the age of 83. Alfred is survived by his three sons, Clifford Voge of Minneapolis, MN, Kim (Melissa) Voge of Edgerton, MN and Trent (Rachel) Voge of Big Lake, MN; five daughters, Charlotte (Mark) Packard of Winter Haven, FL, Corinne (Steve) Olson of Westbrook, MN, Connie (Pete) Hanson of Princeton, MN, Sandra Illg of St. James, MN and Susan (Mark Meyer) Johnson of Annandale, MN; fourteen grandchildren, Brandon Shubert, Michael and Ronda Olson, Shannon and Pete Hanson Jr., Bruce Wahl, Krista Illg, Dylan, Derek and Kya Voge, Zachary, Courtney and Katrina Voge and Mark Meyer Jr.; four great grandchildren, Alexis, Marcos, Landon and Natalia; two sisters, Arlene (Norman) Krebs of Sleepy Eye, MN and Margie (Chuck) Schwartz of Tracy, MN; nieces, nephews and friends. His wife, Betty, his parents, one son-in-law, Bradley Shubert, one brother, Alvin (Tina) Voge, two sisters, Edna (Elmer) Kettner and Mary Lou Schubbe, and one half-brother, Gerald Kettner preceded him in death.
