Alice (DeCrock) DeBaere was born on November 25, 1917, in Sodus Township to Achiel and Leona DeCrock. She grew up on the family farm and attended school at St. Josephâs Academy in Marshall. Alice was united in marriage to Bernard DeBaere on April 16, 1940 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The couple farmed and raised their family south of Marshall until moving to town in 1971. Alice was a homemaker. She was a passionate card player, especially the game of pepper. She also enjoyed playing bingo and participating in the activities at Hill Street Place. She was lucky at cards and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Alice died on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall.
She is survived by her children Angie (and Dale) Willard of Tracy, Dick (and Pam) DeBaere of Ft. Collins, CO, Dave (and Joann) DeBaere of Loveland, CO, 10 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, sister Madeline Blomme, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Lucien and Edmond.
