Allan was born on September 28, 1948, in Clarkfield, MN, to Edmond and Rosalind (Hiley) Esping. He graduated from Minneota High School in 1967. In the fall of 1967, he went to Canby Vo-Tech for Auto Mechanic Training. In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served for two and one half years in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Minneota to farm his grandfather Torkel Espingâs farm. On December 28, 1974, he was united in marriage to Peggy Bitker in Minneota. The couple made their home in Minneota. In 1987, son Ryan was adopted into the family. Allan worked for Schwans, the Minneota Elevator, and continued to farm until 1997. He served on the Eidsvold Township Board for 30 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 199 of Minneota and VFW Post 5334 of Taunton.
Allan died on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by wife, Peg, and son, Ryan, of Minneota, sisters Linda Meaden of Balaton and Laurel (Earl) Hasert of Minneota, Kathy (and Tim) Blooflat of Mankato, brothers Aaron (and Val) Esping of Marshall and Ray (and Cindy) Esping of Sioux Falls, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
