Allen D. Haney age 76 of Tracy, MN died Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home in Tracy. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. All are invited to join the family for cake and coffee at the Tracy Eagles Club immediately following the burial. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Allen Dale Haney was born September 22, 1936 to Harry and Jennie (Visker) Haney in Lake Sarah Township, near Garvin, MN, Lyon County. He attended Tracy Public Schools and shortly thereafter, he entered into military service in the Air Force.
After his honorable discharge, Al worked for Iowa Beef Processing in Texas, Kansas and Iowa. He then moved back to Tracy and went to work as a truck driver for Floyd Wild of Marshall, MN. After his retirement, Al began his own small business, Alâs Landscaping. He did a lot of work for many people around the Tracy area doing tilling, seeding, mowing, and snow removal.
He was a member of the Tracy Lions Club, Tracy Eagles Club, and the Tracy American Legion. He enjoyed his dogs, Killer and Jake, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, John Deere Tractors and just working in his garage on his equipment.
On Thursday, February 21, 2013 Al died in his home in Tracy at the age of 76.
Al is survived by his three daughters, Bonnie (Ken) Self of Gretna, NE, Dixie Ingram of Tupelo, MS and Kim (Murray) Miller of Marshall, MN; four sons, Allen Haney Jr. of Wyoming, IA, Robert (Sue) Haney and Bruce Haney, both of Omaha, NE and Joel (Melissa) Haney of Tracy, MN; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Harriet (George) Reese and Lorraine (Orwill) Wigen, both of Tracy, MN; one brother-in-law, Vern Sanow of Garvin, MN; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
His two daughters, Elaine Haney and Shirley Haney, his parents, one infant brother, Johnny, and two sisters, Jeannette Rykhus and Kate Sanow preceded him in death.
