Anna Marie (Bertamus) Fier was born on August 31, 1936, in Graceville, to Aloysius and Armella (Nosbusch) Bertamus. She grew up in rural St. Leo and graduated from Canby High School. On November 7, 1955, she was united in marriage to Tony Fier. The couple farmed and raised their family in rural Taunton. Ann loved the outdoors. In addition to her farm work, she also worked at the Rye Nursery for many years. She had a strong faith and was an active member of Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and later St. Edward Catholic Church where she served on the funeral committee. She was also active at the Taunton Senior Center where she regularly provided baked rolls. Ann was most passionate about her family. She was a great mom and grandmother. As a role model, Ann passed along her faith and work ethic to her family. She enjoyed cooking and following sports and activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by her husband, Tony, of Taunton, children Pam (and Jim) Veire of Lake Benton, Cheryl (and Mike) Johnson of Marshall, Lynda (and Dan) Thompson of Faribault, Gary (and Leslie) Fier of Minneota, Jackie (and Mike) Klimisch of Sioux Falls, SD, Missy (and Steve) Hennen of Ghent, Bryan (and Sara) Fier of Taunton, son-in-law Kevin Busse, grandchildren Collin, Jill, Katie, Angela, Evan, Allison, Anita, David, Lisa, Maria, Ryan, Jenny, Lance, Mark, Tasha, Samantha, Kelsey, Molly, Kyle, Morgan, Abby, Hunter and Reid, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Deb and brothers Al, Clayton and Nick Bertamus.
