Anna was born on October 2, 1919, in Marshall, to Hector and Ida Louwagie. She was united in marriage on November 15, 1944 to Gerard Verly in Green Valley. Together for 51 years, they loved and nurtured 10 children and welcomed many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 1989 they moved to town after 45 years of farming south of Marshall, where they fed Black Angus, milked cows and gathered eggs. Anna loved the outdoor chores; maybe more than household tasks. Yearly she took at least one combine ride until the age of 96.
