Ann Horner Age 88 of Tracy, MN died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Slayton, MN. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Tracy United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. The interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements. Antje “Ann” Horner was born October 30, 1922 to Lubbert and Meinjie “Minnie” (Van Benton) Van Boeyen at her families home near Rock Valley, IA, Sioux County. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley and attended school in Rock Valley. On March 21, 1941 Ann married Bob Horner in South Sioux City, NE and shortly after their marriage they moved to the Slayton and Tracy areas, where they farmed and raised livestock. She was a homemaker and mother to five children. She was very proud of her 100% Dutch heritage. Ann attended the Tracy United Methodist Church and enjoyed going for rides, cooking, baking, watching television, especially the Game Show Network. She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. What she loved most was visiting and sharing stories with her children, grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her many friends. On June 30, 2011 Ann became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Slayton, where she died, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the age of 88. Ann is survived by her one daughter, Sharon (Mike) Gillette of Slayton, MN; three sons, Bob Horner, Lon (Lil) Horner and Rick (Tammy) Horner all of Tracy, MN; nineteen grandchildren; fifty two great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Amada Horner of Oregon; one brother, John (Irene) Van Boeyen of Port Orchard, WA; one sister, Louise Kooima of Rock Valley, IA; nieces, nephews and many friends. Her husband, Bob, son, Curt, grandson, Jeff, great grandson, Jesse, parents, sister, Bertha, Brother, Andrew, and brother-in-law, Jake Kooima preceded her in death.
