Becky was born October 4, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA to Wallace P. And Jeanette (Taylor) Davis. She grew up in Newark, DE with her brothers Wayne and Mark. In 1977, Becky and her two sons moved to Minnesota. She met Tom Esping in 1978 and the two were married on April 14th, 1979 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota, MN.
Becky’s lifelong passion was helping people. This led to a career in nursing. She graduated nursing school in 1969. For over 40 years, Becky cared for others by working at nursing homes, clinics, hospitals, and hospice care. Her exceptional nursing skills earned praise from doctors and fellow nurses.
She was a great nurse because she treated each patient with compassion. Becky listened to her patients getting to know them as people. The individual attention she provided earned her the love, trust and respect of her patients.
Becky loved children. During the last years of her career, Becky worked at the Minneota Public School as the school nurse. She enjoyed the opportunity to work with students and staff. She was affectionately called Grandma Becky. Numerous students sent her thank you cards and classes invited her to their holiday concerts to show their appreciation to the woman who went above and beyond to do what was best for the kids.
Over the years Becky and her family were involved in community activites. Becky was on the Minneota Public School board and volunteered at Hope Lutheran Church. Becky, Tom, their grandchildren and great-nieces worked with Meals on Wheels.
Becky was a creative person who enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She extended her commitment to the community and love of children by conducting after school craft projects with her husband Tom. They also spent many an afternoon with their grandchildren and great-nieces making Christmas presents for parents.
Becky’s greatest love was for her family. She never missed a birthday or a chance to babysit her grandchildren or great-nieces. Becky is survived by her husband, Tom Esping of Minneota, sons Tony (and Tammy) of Minneota, David (and Amy) of Missouri, grandchildren Nicholas, Trent “TJâ€, Jackson, Nolan and Carter, brother Wayne (and Mona) Davis of Lincoln, DE and Mark Davis of Salina, KS, father-in-law Harlan Esping of Porter, sister-in-laws Judy Esping of Porter and Nancy (and Roger) Longhenry of Porter, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
