Bernadette Marie âBernieâ Buysse was born on Friday, February 15, 1952 in Marshall, Minnesota to Wilfred and Lucy (Bulcke) Buysse. She lived on the farm north of Minneota with her parents and siblings under her motherâs care until she was 60 years old.
She attended the Willing Hands Workshop in Ghent. She worked for many years at the Marshall Lyon County DAC, now called Advance Opportunities. Bernie loved spending time with her family, playing cards and Yahtzee, and watching her nightly Wheel of Fortune. From watching cars go by on the street to announcing visitors coming up the driveway on the farm, Bernie always made sure she knew what was going on. She helped with household chores and particularly enjoyed supervising others. Bernie enjoyed life and was a gift to all who knew her.
Bernie moved into a HSI home in Marshall in 2012. She resided there under the watchful eye of her excellent caregivers until her death on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
