Bernard “Bernie” Michael Moorse was born on October 12, 1958, in Marshall, MN, to Bernard and Helene (Van Overbeke). Bernie grew up on the family farm near Minneota. He graduated from Minneota High School in 1976. Bernie was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Minnesota Jersey and Holstein Associations, and the National Jersey and Holstein Associations. He participated in 4-H. This included showing at the Minnesota State Fair and AKSARBEN in Nebraska. Bernie lived on the home farm his entire life. He was a hard worker, dedicating his life to his dairy cattle. He also spoiled the barn cats, especially Spook and Oreo.

Bernie rarely took time off from the farm, but he did take a trip to Hawaii, which he greatly enjoyed. Bernie was an avid reader. He enjoyed all sorts of agricultural publications and local newspapers. He enjoyed discussing current events and loved to chat sports and pop culture with his nieces and nephews. Bernie loved his family, and he took care of his parents in their later years. He had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed following their activities and sharing his endless supply of popsicles with them. Bernie enjoyed all kinds of music (except rap), as well as snacking on ice cream, cheese puffs and circus peanuts.

Bernie died on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. He is survived by his siblings Father Dunstan Moorse, John (Deborah) Moorse, Mary Ann (Curt) Coover, Edward (Cynthia) Moorse, Patty Moorse and Greg (Becky) Moorse; 24 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; good friends Gene Fodness and Dave Boulton; as well as other relatives and friends.
