Bertha (Noyes) Louwagie was born January 20, 1922 to Henry and Marie (DeWilde) Noyes near Ghent, Minnesota. She was baptized, made her First Communion, and confirmed at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent. On May 5, 1943 she was united in marriage to Emil Louwagie in St. Eloi Catholic Church. They farmed near Green Valley for 44 years before they moved to Marshall, Minnesota in 1987. To this marriage they were blessed with eight children; Dennis, Bob, Dean, Diane, Doug, Greg, Bev, and Pat.
Bertha was a member of St. Clotilde CCW, Catholic Daughters, and was a volunteer at the Hospital Thrift Shop and Gift Shop. Bertha prayed the Rosary religiously. She enjoyed playing cards, and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a great memory, and knew all her grandchildren and great-grandchildrenâs names and birthdays.
On Monday, March 03, 2014 Bertha passed away surrounded by her loving family, at the Avera-Marshall Medical Center in Marshall, MN at the age of 92.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Evelyn) of Marshall; Bob (Linda) of Wallingford, IA; Dean (Linda) of Marshall; Diane (David) Hennen of Minneota; daughter-in-law, Jane of Milroy; Greg (Diane) of Marshall; Bev (Dave) Peterson of Alexandria; Pat (Laurie) of Marshall; 26 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers Jules (Marlene) Noyes of Marshall, Joe (Millie) Noyes of Marshall, and Ray (Colleen) Noyes of Ghent; sister-in-laws Mary Noyes, Annie Verly, and Ida Louwagie ,and brother-in-law Maurice Louwagie, all of Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil; son, Doug Louwagie; grandson, Eric Hennen; brother, Emil Noyes; sister, Alice Louwagie; great grandsons, Landon & Lane Louwagie and Jacob Preheim; and her Louwagie in-laws.
