Visitation for Betty Moran, 100, of Marshall, will take place from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall.

Betty passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023, at her current residence, Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN.

Betty was born in Red Wing, MN, on January 5, 1923. She grew up in Eden Prairie, MN. Betty graduated from Eden Prairie High School class of 1940. She attended the U of MN, and during WWII, she worked at the Buzza Honeywell plant assembling periscopes for tanks. In 1945 Betty married Glenn Moran in San Diego, where he was stationed in the Navy. After five years in Cambridge, MN, they moved to Marshall. That is where Glenn taught history at Marshall High School and coached baseball and basketball. Betty was a stay at home mom until 1970 when she went to work at Main Street Bookstore and later worked many years at Orphanage Antiques. Both jobs were dearly loved. Betty always had a love of reading and antiques. She volunteered at the Lyon County Animal impound center. Her special interests were driving Morgan horses, dogs, and reading police procedural novels. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and active in the Rebecca-Ruth circle. In recent years, Betty loved reading, conversing with friends, watching British television programs, and loving her family.

She is survived by sons Mark, Dave (Pat), and Wade (Barbara); five grandchildren, Chris, Ben, Megan, Molly, and Shannon; and six great-grandchildren, Mia, Maxwell Lane, Shea, Hadley, Maxwell, and Matilda. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, daughter-in-law Maureen Moran; sister Pat Comack; and brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joan Wenneson.
