Betty Lou Harbo Foster

The funeral service for Betty Foster, 90, of Tracy, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Willow Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Currie.

Betty Lou (Harbo) Foster was born on November 13, 1930, in Tracy, to Oliver and Marie (Klucking) Harbo. She grew up on a farm near Tracy and attended country school. Betty was united in marriage to Lindy Haugen and to this union were born Linda, Kathleen, Charles, Pam, Georgia and Abbie. Betty worked as a baker for the Tracy Bakery and later at the Tracy Nursing Home. She will be remembered for her cookies, lefsa and fried bread dough with icing. She also did ironing, cleaning, and worked at the Tracy Laundromat. On November 16, 1983, she was married to Keye Foster. Betty was a master quilter and donated may quilts to her church. She was an active member of Willow Lake Lutheran Church and later Tracy Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed playing the phase 10 dice game. She was most passionate about time with her family.

Betty died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. She is survived by her children Linda (and Gene) Tordsen of Sauk Centre, Kathleen (and Andrew) Peterson of Glenwood, Chuck (and Liz) Haugen of Slayton, Pam Haugen of Currie, Georgia Hansen of Springfield and Abbie (and Scott) Stirn of Currie; grandchildren Jason Tordsen, Jenny Dreger, Lori Agar, Lonnie DeSmith, Shawn DeSmith, Travis DeSmith, Sarah McNamara, Chuckie Haugen Jr., Aaron Haugen, Andrew Haugen, Jessica Kruse, M'Hesi Haugen, Abel Haugen, Talia Haugen, Darin Hansen, Joshua Stirn, Sheena Schons, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, siblings Elsie Zimmerman of Tyler, Beverly (Jim) Donner of Tracy, Joan Byers of Revere, sister-in-law Janet Harbo, sister-in-law Jocelyn Harbo and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keye Foster, son-in-law Bruce Haack granddaughters Mandy Haack and MaLinda Haack, great-granddaughter Madyson Stirn and several siblings.
