Beverly was born on October 22, 1948, in Marshall, to Frank and Rita (Paradis) Versaevel. She grew up in Marshall, attended Holy Redeemer Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Beverly achieved her LPN from the Mitchell School of Nursing in Mitchell, SD. She then went to work at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. On September 9, 1972, she was married to Robert Elsen at St. Mary’s Chapel in Marshall. The family lived in Rock Valley, IA, from 1976 – 1986 where Beverly worked at the Rock Valley Nursing Home and volunteered to clean the church rectory. They later moved to Watertown, SD, where Beverly managed a medical supply store. The couple divorced and Beverly and her son, Ben, moved to Marshall in 1993. Beverly spent most of her adult life dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cross stitch.
Beverly died on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at her residence in Marshall. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (and Mike) Chisholm of Gary, MN, son Benjamin (and Holly) Elsen of Balaton, MN, grandchildren Carolyn, Tucker, Savannah, Morgan, Owen, Alex, Brooklyn and Madelyn and brother Daniel Versaevel of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents.
