Funeral service for Bobby âPopeyeâ Buss, 56, of Rural Windom, will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Westbrook. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. â 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A private family interment will take place later at Rosehill Cemetery in Rural Westbrook.
Bobby William Buss was born on September 18, 1957, in Westbrook, to Glen and Marjorie (Hanson) Buss. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1975. Bobby then attended Vocational Technical Training in Canby. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic at a variety of places including Jeffers Implement and Fortune Transportation. He was married to Susan Lentz in 1980. To this union were born children Bobby Jr. and Marcia. Bobby enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed the chuck wagon races in Spencer, IA. He was passionate about spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and on occasion would entertain the group by singing or telling a story
Bobby died unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Windom Hospital. He is survived by his children Bobby Jr. (and Susan) Buss of Windom, Marcia (and Brent) Therkilsen of Storden, step-son Daniel Lentz of Cincinatti, OH, grandchildren John, Tyler, Eric, Camryn, and Benjamin, siblings Gene (and Carmen) Buss of Arcadia, WI, Jan (and Steve) Nelson of Westbrook, Shari (and Doug) Rempp, Jon (and Kristina) Buss of Aurelia, IA, Sara (and Travis) Krueger of Westbrook, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
