Bud Korsmo was born on November 7, 1916, in Fargo, to Oscar and Esther (Ness) Korsmo. The family moved to Minneapolis where Bud attended school and graduated from Marshall High School. Bud enlisted in the U.S. National Guard at age 15. He served during World War II as part of the Air Corp where he flew B-29s over Southeast Asia. Bud was called back to duty for the Korean War. In 1973, Bud married Ardella Rhymer in Chicago. After retiring the couple lived in Arizona during the winter and Minnesota during the summer. They purchased a home in Taunton in the late 1990s. Budâs career was in the sale of building materials for Wunder, Klein, Donahue of Minneapolis. He was a member of the Zurah Shrine Temple, the Sons of Norway, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Right in Minneapolis. He enjoyed playing golf and sang in the church choir in Sun City.
Bud died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.
He is survived by his wife, Ardella, of Taunton, children Mary Sherman of California, Kathleen (and Roger) Seeland of Hopkins, Chuck (and Patricia) Korsmo of Plymouth, step-children Laura (and Tom) Hargreaves of Buffalo, MN, John G. (and Cathy) Rhymer III of rural Canby, Diana (and Jerry) Anderson of Andover, Howard âRustyâ (and Paula) Rhymer of Taunton, 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Rosamond, and brother Robert Korsmo.
