Byron Dean Iverson was born on June 19, 1962, in Benson, MN, to Jerry and Shirley (Christianson) Iverson. He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. Byron served in the U.S. Army Reserve and did painting and odd jobs in Benson. On September 25, 1993, he was united in marriage to Carol Erickson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The couple moved to Marshall where Byron worked for the Schwan Food Company for 16 years. He later worked for Sterzinger Custom Crushing and for Girard and Son Pumping.
Byron was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed following his son-in-lawâs stock car racing. He had an excellent sense of humor and will be remembered for his many practical jokes. He will also be remembered as a very good friend and compassionate man. He was very helpful for his many friends. He was most passionate about his family, especially his granddaughter Josie.
Byron died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, south of Clarkfield, as the result of an automobile accident. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Marshall, daughter Kelsi (and Kent) Miller of Milroy, granddaughter Josie Miller, son Brody of Marshall, son Kevin Chrast of Annandale, brother Ronald Iverson of Morristown, sister Janyce Bouta of St. Paul, sister Marveen Wolf of Rosemount, mother-in-law Karen Meyer of Alexandria, in-laws Debbi Erickson of Willmar, Jerry (and Tammy) Erickson of Willmar, Alana Erickson (and Dean Razink) of Alexandria, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy Iverson, sister Debra Buhmann, Goddaughter and niece Alexis Iverson.
