Carl Johann Anundson was born on December 29, 1912, in rural Clarkfield, to August and Marie (Olson) Anundson. He grew up and attended country school in Stony Run Township. On October 28, 1939, he was united in marriage to Hazel Hegna. The couple lived in Stony Run Township before moving to a farm and raising their family in rural Hanley Falls. After retirement, they moved to Cottonwood and later to Minneota. Carl was passionate about farming and spending time with his grandchildren. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening.
Carl died on Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children Angie (and Gene) Tople of St. Cloud, Rose (and Tom) Wisdorf of Cottonwood, Mary (and Jeff) Timm of Alexandria, Kevin (and Karla) Anundson of Minneota, grandchildren Kari, Steve, Jodie, Jill, Ross, Craig, Tara, Erika, Joshua, Katherine, Keith, Jack and Jenna, great-grandchildren Scott, Riley, Andrew, Laeden, Emily, Spencer, Mikale, Chris, Emma, Alex, Jada and Logan, sisters Thea, Myrtle and Adeline and sisters-in-law Mabel, Arleen and Lois. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel, son Keith, three brothers and one sister.
