Caroline Archbold

Caroline Margaret Stephan was born June 1, 1937 in Long Prairie, MN to Myron and Loretta (Dinkel) Stephan. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1955 and the College of St. Catherine-St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1959. On June 18, 1960 Carol was united in marriage to Bernie Archbold. They made their home, created their family and established a legacy of living, loving and sharing in Marshall. Carol liked nothing more than spending time with her family. From traveling the world with Bernie and “fishing trips” with the girls, to sitting on the floor of her home or cabin playing cards and board games with her grandchildren. Carol loved her quiet time doing needlework, crossword puzzles and daily meditations. She was actively involved in her church and community, always willing to help others. Carol served on the Parish Council, the Holy Redeemer School Board, was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Marshall Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered for many organizations including the hospital gift shop, Prairie Home Hospice, Funeral choir, Meals on Wheels and almost anything needed at church from counting money to setting tables. Carol passed away Wednesday, November 18 at her home in Marshall after a very short battle with Leukemia (AML). She is survived by her children: Tim (Julie) of Arden Hills, Pam Kuhr of Burnsville, Tom (Jackie) of Plymouth, Dave (Kim) of Peachtree City, GA, Jane (Todd) Bock of Marshall; 17 grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Rick) Colby of Gravois Mills, MO and Mary (Rob) Clarke of New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie, her parents, brother Roger and son- in- law Bob Kuhr. Memorials are preferred to the Holy Redeemer School Foundation.
