Chester Olaus Dalager was born on February 13, 1920, in Granite Falls, MN, to Christopher and Mathilda Dalager. On November 19, 1944, Chester married Evelyn Mikelson in Clarkfield, MN. They farmed northeast of Granite Falls for 16 years. The couple then purchased a gas and oil business in Minneota. They added a grocery/convenience store the next year and wre open 7 days a week for 23 years. In 1983, they sold their business to their son, Charles, and wife, Linda. Evelyn and Chester then spent the next 13 summers at a resort near Alexandria. They thoroughly enjoyed following their grandchildrenâs sports and school activities.
Chester passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Minneota Manor. He is survived by his children; Cathy Rich (Bob Erhardt), of Golden Valley, Ann Dalager (Carol Stomberg) of Cedar, MN, and Charles (Linda) Dalager of Minneota, five grandchildren: Kelly (Al) Smetana of Mankato, Devin (Sarah) McGuire of Burnsville, Michyl (Karen) Dalager of Marshall, Carrie (Doug) Schueller of Sartell, and Brittany Dalager of Des Moines, IA, 11 great grandchildren, siblings Elmer Dalager of Montevideo, Ruth Stevens of Granite Falls and special companion Sammy (the kitty).
He was preceded in death by wife Evelyn, his parents, brothers Orville, Melvin and Christopher Dalager and sister, Lillian Friend.
