Clarence Joseph Swedzinski was born on February 9, 1919, in Lyon County to Joseph and Florence (Downing) Swedzinski. He attended country school located one mile from the home farm and graduated from Minneota Public High School in 1939. On June 3, 1947, Clarence was united in marriage to Lillian Claeys at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. The couple farmed and raised their family on Clarenceâs home place three miles South of Taunton.
Clarence loved the farm life. He also enjoyed playing checkers, puzzle games, listening to country western music, square dancing and being with family and friends.
Clarence died on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his children Dennis (and Sandy) Swedzinski of Minneota, Doris (and Darrell) Wicks of Danube and Dale (and Karen) Swedzinski of Taunton, sister-in-law Dorothy Swedzinski of Minneota, grandchildren Dennis (and Beth) Swedzinski, Doug (and Jodie) Swedzinski, Kelli (and Jeff) Katherman, Lori Wicks (and friend Conrad Crockett) and Cal Swedzinski; great-grandchildren Carter and Will Katherman, Brinn Wicks and Jon Swedzinski. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Vivian Popelier, brother Ronald Swedzinski and a four year old sister Eleanor Swedzinski.
