Clarice Eleanor (Rolison) Boyer was born on September 1, 1918, in Ottumwa, IA, to Lester Richard and Ethel (Tozer) Rolison. As a child, she and her family lived in several communities including Marshall for a time. Here she met John Boyer. The couple was united in marriage on October 16, 1938, in Beardsley.
Clarice was active in developing the business community in Marshall. The farm where she and John lived and worked is now an active shopping area with Runnings, Walmart, Shopko, several dining establishments, medical clinics, a hotel and a jewelry store. Clarice was responsible for that development. She had a strong will and a deep faith. She enjoyed travelling and visited nearly every state and particularly enjoyed several cruises. She spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Clarice died on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, MN. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (and William) Sullivan of Marshall, grandchildren Michael (and Diane) Sullivan of Eagan, Steven (and Kimber) Sullivan of Forest Lake, Shawn (and Tad) Powelson of Marshall, Kevin (and Vonda) Sullivan of Mason City, IA, Scott (and Kate) McCreedy of St. Petersburg, FL, Keith (and Debora) McCreedy of Buffalo, NY, Jonathan (and Carrie) McCreedy of St. Petersburg, FL, 17 great grandchildren, sister June Miller of Bakersfield, CA, sister-in-law Dulcie Rolison of Madison, WI, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, daughter Margaret âPegâ McCreedy, son-in-law Terence McCreedy, brothers Ellar and Donald (and Jan) Rolison, brother-in-law Terry Miller.
