Clayton Arvin Peters was born December 21, 1936, in Canby, to Charles and Arnelda (Johnson) Peters. As a child, he moved with his family to Alexandria, MN, where he graduated from high school. Pete enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Philippines and Newfoundland. On August 29, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary Lee Hoffman at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Pete worked for L.P. Hoffman doing accounting and bookkeeping. He later began working with computers and was a Partner with PBH Systems which specialized in payroll and accounting. Pete was an avid golfer and was partners in menâs league with Bernie Archbold for 35 years. He was also a member of Rotary and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Pete and Mary Lee enjoyed wintering in Phoenix for several years. Pete also enjoyed watching television, especially MASH and Judge Judy. His greatest love was his children, grandchildren, his beautiful great granddaughters and his âPupâ Maxi.
Pete died Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee, of Marshall, son Mark (and Lorinda) Peters of Marshall, granddaughter Rachel Peters, daughter Lee Anne (and Bruce) Hoffmann of Minneota, grandchildren Jessica (and Justin) Anderson of Minneota, Adam (and Emily) Hoffmann of Vermillion, SD, great-grandchildren Autum and Piper Anderson, and sister Teddy Diekman of Glenwood, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson David, and sisters Delores and Vera.
Memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice or to Holy Redeemer Church.
