A private family graveside service will take place at a later date for Cleo Ward, 73, of Marshall, at Plentywood Memorial Cemetery in Plentywood, MT.
Cleo Yvonne Ward was born on August 10, 1951, in Plentywood, MT. She was baptized and confirmed in the Plentywood Lutheran Church. She went to school there until the age of 17; with her special needs she was sent to St. Paul, MN, as there was nothing in Montana for special needs. She had many relatives on her Mothers' side that spent time with her, taking her fishing or home for the weekend.
Cleo was relocated to Marshall, MN. Her cousin Raynae picked her up for weekends, and Cleo loved the horses they had.
The staff where Cleo resided was so good to her, taking care of her needs which always included a shopping trip!
Cleo’s folks spent many miles traveling to spend time with her and outings included staying with her aunt Florence and of course more shopping! Can't forget the casinos, she loved to play the nickel machines.
Cleo died at her residence in Marshall on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents Bernt and Arline Ward, grandparents, nephews Justin Ward and Neal Ward, brother Wesley Ward, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Cleo is survived by brother Gary Ward of Sidney, MT, and family; brother Roger Ward of Wilhoit, AZ, and family; sister Barb (Ron) Fink of Raymond, MT, and family; uncle Jim (Sharon) Ward and family; aunt Linda Ward and family; aunt Velora Greseth and family; as well as many Minnesota cousins and their families.
Cleo had a great love for animals, with cats on the top of the list. She could squeeze the stuffing out of them!
Cleo is now with her folks, and they probably have a game of kings in the corner going!
