Cynthia Kay âCindyâ Tolk was born on February 13, 1961, in Canby, MN, to Ardeen and Sandra (Heldt) Tolk. She grew up in rural Minneota, attended school in Minneota and Canby. After graduation, she lived in Spicer and later Montevideo for a time. In 1985, she moved to a HSI home in Marshall and lived with her housemates Shirley Vandevoorde, Amy Jo Wiger, Gail Schepker (formerly Amy Myhre, deceased) and many care givers and volunteers. Cindy enjoyed her job with Advanced Opportunities. She also enjoyed playing bingo, board games, watching TV Land and doing word searches. She was an avid fan of The Wizard of Oz. Cindy was most fond of time spent with her family.
Cindy died on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. She is survived by her mother Sandra Tolk of Minneota, siblings Robert (and Tami) Tolk of Minneota, Barbara (Tolk) Wigness (and Tom Steers) of Carver, nieces and nephews Chris (and Ashley) Tolk of Minneota, Tessa (and Matt) Bottelberghe of Minneota, Desiree (and Josh) Timmerman of Ghent, Meagan Tolk of Marshall, Kelsea (and Remi) Anderson of Marshall, Dylan, Isabelle, and McKenzie Tolk of Minneota, Rebecca Wigness of Carver, ten great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends and her pet dog, Sally. She was preceded in death by her father Ardeen and uncle, Donald.
