Darlene Marie Gladis

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place after the service. Darlene Gladis was born on May 17, 1943 in Tyler, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Alice (Larson) Budnick. She attended grade school in Tyler and High School in Marshall. She was united in marriage in Wilno, MN on May 27, 1961 to Benny Gladis; this union was blessed with two children, Linda and Kevin. Darlene’s joy was her family. She enjoyed watching them grow up and having their own families. She looked forward to family vacations and camping trips. Almost all of her life she had a pet at home that was a companion and friend. In Darlene’s spare time she could be found watching HGTV or going to rummage sales. While living at the nursing home she enjoyed bingo, outings to the local casino, trips to the bakery and visiting with the other residents and staff. Darlene was a loving and giving person, whom showed compassion to others. She was a believer in God, and her faith helped her through the tides of life. Darlene passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the age of seventy-five. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Budnick; husband, Benny; infant son, Leroy and son, Kevin; sisters, Margie and Margaret Budnick and Marles Sovell, Nyla Voss. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (and Mark) Steen of Marshall, granddaughters, Amy (and Nathan) Stewart of Granite Falls, and Kayla (and Jake) Vierhuf of Hendricks, great-grandchildren, Abbeygale and Tiana Stewart, and Blisse, Zane and Trinity Vierhuf.
