Mass of Christian Burial for Darlene Rolling, 76, of Tracy, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2020, at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Tracy. A walk through visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. â 6:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center and Saturday, January 16, from 1:00 p.m. â 2:00 p.m. at St. Maryâs Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tracy. Online condolences and a recording of the service will be available at www.horvathfuneralservice.com. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed at all times.
Darlene Adelle Lord Rolling was born January 31, 1944 at Tracy, MN, the third of five children born to William and Agnes (Sanders) Lord. She passed away on Tuesday, December 29, at the age of 76 years at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls..
Darlene was baptized, made her First Communion, was confirmed, and married at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Tracy, MN where she was a life-long member. There she taught CCD, was as a member of Catholic Daughters, co-chairman of womensâ church guilds, a member of the liturgical committee, study groups, and a guitar Mass group. Darlene was instrumental in publishing the Church Centennial book.
She attended Garvin grade school through 6th grade, and Tracy High School 7-12th grades graduating in 1962. Darlene worked as a nurseâs aide at Tracy Hospital, Inc. following high school until her marriage to Allan Rolling, November 30, 1963. Later, she graduated from the nursing program at Worthington Community College. She worked as a nurse at Tracy Municipal Hospital for 17 years and then at Project Turnabout Treatment Center in Granite Falls, MN for over 15 years.
Her main love was her family and spending time with them whether it was an evening around a campfire, fishing, playing board games, or having tea parties with the grandkids. Traveling was also a great joy to her and she was always ready for an adventure. Darlene enjoyed drawing, painting and playing guitar. For a season, she played in a small local band that often played for nursing homes and area events. Darlene could always be found with a book by her side. She also loved to preserve family history through her genealogical research.
Darlene was loved and cherished by her four children, Paul (Alice) Rolling, Tracy; Dan (Kim) Rolling, Tracy; Jeanne Prekker, Luverne, MN; and Tony (Brenda) Rolling, Tracy, MN; eleven grandchildren, Will (Heather) Rolling, Emmalee Rolling, Jordan (Samantha) Rolling, Dakota Rolling, Stephen Rolling, Jaden Rolling, Alizabeth Prekker, Andrew Prekker, Evan Prekker, Alex Rolling, and Mitchell Rolling; six great-grandchildren: Braxton, Braelynn, Aryi, Jaxyn, Riyker, and Everleigh. Darlene is also survived by her three siblings: Patricia Lord of Crystal, MN, Max (Mary) Lord of Marshall, MN, and Desneige (Jim) Gervais of Currie, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Lord and one sister, Marianne Kerr.
