A gathering and memorial service for family and friends is planned from 3:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery, following the memorial service. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements. David Robert Coyle of Kenner, LA passed away unexpectedly on April, 17, 2014 at the age of 56. Dave was born to Robert and JoAnne Coyle in Charlotte, NC on August 19, 1957. Two years after Dave was born the family moved back to the Minnesota, living in Slayton and later Garvin where Robert and JoAnne lived until 1970 when the family moved to Tracy, MN. Dave graduated from Tracy Junior-Senior High School, attended college in Iowa and later began a successful career in construction that took him across the Midwest, Colorado and then finally to New Orleans. Dave was an accomplished athlete in high school; earning athlete of the year as a senior and awarded the most valuable wrestler his last three years of high school. Upon graduation from high school Dave served in the Minnesota Army National Guard earning the rank of Specialist E4 assigned to the 2/135 Infantry Co-C, Tracy, MN. Dave attended Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa; shortly after college he worked on the Whitney farm in Regal, MN where he met and later married Cynthia Schmitz. They moved to Colorado and were later divorced. To that union two children were born; Crystal and David. Crystal resides in Farmington, MN and has two sons Devin and Hunter. David (Karen and daughter Anna) reside in Rosemount, MN. Dave’s career evolved around the construction industry; starting out as a residential timber frame carpenter, later working as a structural steel erector and commercial electrician. Dave has always been an outdoorsman, he enjoyed many elk hunts in Colorado, antelope hunts in Wyoming and deer hunts in Louisiana. We’ve heard from others that knew him well in Louisiana that he was the greatest turkey hunter to never bring home a turkey. He was an avid football fan loyal to the Broncos, say what you will about the Vikings just be careful about what you say about the Broncos and Saints for that matter. He and Pam never missed the annual Jazz Festival in New Orleans, fourteen years straight they shared the music, parades and festivities. Dave loved the Cajun music albeit he couldn’t understand a word they said if you asked Pam. He spoke often of the family weekends at the river camp and gatherings with friends; we will fondly recall these memories for many years to come. Dave has always been a man of generosity; family and friends were important to him and it didn’t matter when or where he was ready to help with a project or celebrate a family event. The grand kids called him “pawpaw”, that ones not in the dictionary but we know it means one of great trust, true faith, and unconditional love. He is no doubt a man of character. He will be missed and remembered often as we think of him, our families, and the times we once shared together. Dave’s longtime companion is Pamela Courville, they were together fourteen years. Pam and Dave meet in New Orleans and have lived in Kenner and St Rose, Louisiana. Pam has one daughter Tracey who lives in Reserve, Louisiana. There are six grand-children; Hunter, Devin, Bill, Loghan, Lilly and Anna. Dave has five sisters and was the second of five boys born to Robert and JoAnne Coyle. Brothers are the late Bill Kathman (Jayne of Sioux Falls), Ronald (Wendy) of Tracy, James (Terri) of Rochester and Michael (Amy) of Atkinson, NE. Sisters are Tamora (the late Ray Hatton) of Sioux Falls, Sandy (Fran) of Garvin, Ronda (Roy) of Slayton, Dawn (Bob) of Lucan and Kim (Dan) of Tracy. There are twenty nieces and nephews as well as eighteen great nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Robert and JoAnne Coyle; brother Bill, brother-in-law Ray Hatton and sister-in-law Tina Coyle.
