David Dale Kock was born on March 27, 1967, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Dale and
Margit (Johnson) Kock. He grew up in Rock Valley, IA, and graduated from
Rock Valley High School. Dave then obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree
from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. After his graduation, he came to
work for The Schwan Food Company in Marshall, MN. At the time of his death
he was a Senior Business Systems Manager. On October 5, 1996, Dave was
united in marriage to Teresa Steil at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold
Spring, MN. Dave enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, golfing and was an avid
sports fan. He also enjoyed singing and sang in the All State High School
Choir, at college and with the St. Stephen Lutheran Church choir. He was
full of life. Dave was most passionate about spending time with his wife
and girls. Together, they enjoyed skiing, bowling, games, golfing, playing
cards and so many others.
Dave died suddenly on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Avera Marshall
Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, daughters Megan (9) and Alexandra (8) of
Marshall, mother Margit of Rock Valley, IA, brother Michael (Lisa) Kock of
Des Moines, their sons Ben and Sam, grandmother Louise Kock, mother and
father-in-law Paul and Elizabeth Steil of Cold Spring, brother-in-law
Michael (Nina) Steil of St. Cloud, their children Connor, Noah and Griffin,
brother-in-law Brian (Rachel) Steil, of Woodbury, their children Alexander
and Madison. He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandfather
and maternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Stephen Lutheran
Church Building Fund or Pride of the Tiger Foundation.
