David Dale Meyer was born on January 28, 1944, in Marshall, to Leonard and Elsie (Van Dale) Meyer. He grew up on a farm near Cottonwood. David was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cottonwood. On October 28, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sharon Forde. The couple lived the majority of their married life in Marshall. David had many talents and worked at a variety of jobs including the Marshall Grocery, for Moberg Gas Station, Appleton Silo, he farmed East of Marshall, for eight years was a route driver for Schwans, he drove truck for Standard Chemical Feed. David began and co-owned his own business manufacturing and selling cattle feed; Midwest Commodities. In his post-retirement, David drove truck for Floyd Wild Trucking. David was very hard working and had many interests. He enjoyed upkeep on his lawn and gardening, fishing, playing cards and traveling, especially to Norway. David appreciated his coffee buddies and looked forward to spending time with them at Mike's Cafe. He was most passionate about spending time with his grandchildren.

David died on Monday, August 3, 2009, near Gary, SD, due to a truck accident. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Marshall, children Tom (and Lisa) Meyer of Lynd, Colleen (and Paul) Meidl, of Springfield, MN, Brent (and Sara) Meyer of Ghent, grandchildren Emma, Holly, Rachel, Nolan and Adam Meyer of Lynd, Brittany, Tiffani, Gerritt, & Tyson Meidl of Springfield, Logan Meyer of Ghent, siblings Virginia (and Lawrence) Dobias of Vermillion, MN, Steve (and Veronica) Meyer of Marshall, Brenda (and Ken) Woy of Puyallup, WA, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons and sister, Barbara. Blessed be his memory!
