David Richard VanDePutte was born January 4, 1947, in Marshall to Edward and Mary (DeBaere) VanDePutte. David grew up in Minneota and graduated from Minneota High school. In 1971, David was united in marriage to Lois Thostenson. He worked as the manager of the Chalet Club in Marshall for 40 years. He then worked at Kruse Motors until his retirement in 2015. David enjoyed spending time outside, including fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling, whether it be to warm tropical places or a fishing trip to Alaska. David looked forward to Minneota Viking sports and his grandsonsâ sporting events. David will be remembered for his ability to talk to anyone and his joy of meeting new people.
David died on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at his home in Minneota. He is survived by his wife, Lois, of Minneota; daughters Mindy (and Kevin) Fier of Porter, Kayla VanDePutte of Santa Cruz, CA; siblings Marlene Arens of Woodstock, Tom (and Connie) VanDePutte of Clarkfield, Robert (and Sandy) VanDePutte of Bremerton, WA, Jim VanDePutte of Bloomington, Joe VanDePutte of Marshall; grandsons Zack and Brock Fier; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice and Community Care of Marshall or a charity of the donorâs choice.
