Dawn Joyce Lanners

The funeral service for Dawn Lanners, 46, of Wood Lake, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Life Remembrance Center in Balaton. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church in Wood Lake. Interment will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Currie. Dawn Joyce Lanners was born on September 19, 1972, in Minneapolis to Robert and Karen (Krueger) Dutcher. When she was a child, she moved with her family to Balaton. Dawn graduated from Balaton High School and later attended Pipestone Vocational Technical School. She worked for the Schwan Food Company for over 23 years; first in the Ice Cream Plant, then the Beverage Plant and most recently as a Production Control Analyst. On May 12, 1995, she was united in marriage to David Lanners and the couple made their home in Wood Lake. Dawn enjoyed bowling, throwing darts and motorcycling with her husband. The couple was active with the Toys for Tots run and never missed the Wabasso Roll-Ins. She was most passionate about her family and especially enjoyed time with her kids and grandkids. Dawn died on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN, after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. She is survived by her husband, David Lanners, children Anthony Dutcher, Jason Dutcher, Ta’Mara (and husband Saugat) Poudyal, Carol Lanners (and special friend Nick Petersen), step-children Amy, David Jr., Kim, Joshua, Justin and Elizabeth, grandchildren Paisley Dutcher, Kenzlie Dutcher, Brody Lanners and Cooper Petersen (on the way..), mother Karen Dutcher, siblings Chad Dutcher and Shawna Roberts, in-laws Connie (and Randy) Schreier, Kevin (and Chris) Lanners, Mike (and Kelli) Lanners, Shirley (and Dave) Thooft, Dale (and Kathy) Lanners, Robert Lanners and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father Robert Dutcher, in-laws Robert and Carol Lanners, brother-in-law Jim Peterson, nephew Lance Peterson and niece Justina Dutcher.
