Denis Maurines Doom was born on May 12, 1937 to Henry and Clare (Cauwels) Doom in Marshall. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. He attended school at Holy Redeemer School and then the family moved to Canby. On September 18, 1956, Denis was united in marriage to Margaret Lozinski at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. He farmed for several years at Canby, Marshall and Minneota before he started hauling farm machinery and dealing tractors in the Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana areas. Denis enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Denis died on Saturday, December 8, 2007, in Little Rock, Arkansas, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Minneota, daughters Denise and Virgil Buysse of Taunton, Diane and Tom Stoks of Sleepy Eye, Karen Doom of Stillwater, Margaret âPegâ and LuVerne Sik of Elbow Lake, and Jeanne and James Kraus of Porter, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, twin brother Daniel (Rose) Doom of Canby, brothers George (Suzanne) Doom of Perham, Roger (Ramona) of Apple Valley, Kevin (Julie) of Canby and Joe Doom of Arizona, sisters Carolyn (Ralph) Hieb of Granite Falls, Charlene (Chuck) Streff of Canby, Marcine (Robert) Hemming of Shoreview and Marilynn (Richard) Williams of Brooklyn Park, Aunt Ida Louwagie of Cottonwood, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clare Doom, one grandson, one nephew, Aunts and Uncles. Denis was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
