Denise TeKrony

The funeral service for Denise TeKrony, 59, of Garvin, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Garvin Congregational Church in Garvin.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy.  Visitation will continue on Monday, one hour prior to the service, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Garvin Congregational Church.  Interment will take place at the Bethel Cemetery in Garvin.  A recording of the service will be available at www.horvathfuneralservice.com.

Denise Marie Christensen TeKrony was born on September 26, 1962, in Tracy, MN, to Dennis and Marilyn Christensen.  She grew up on the family farm near Garvin, MN, where she developed a lifelong love for plants and animals.  She attended school in Garvin and Tracy.  Denise was active in 4-H and the Garvin Congregational Church.  She graduated from Tracy High School and Southwest State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  She spent her entire career as a Tax Accountant and enjoyed working with her clients.

On June 10, 1995, Denise married Sylvan TeKrony and moved to their farm by Clear Lake, South Dakota.  Later, they moved back to her grandparent’s farm near Garvin.  Denise went to be with Jesus on March 15^th, after a short, hard battle with pancreatic cancer. Denise had a heart of gold and she was always thinking of others.

She is survived by her parents, brother Scott and his wife, Julie; nephew Drew and his wife Kayla and boys Tommy and Mark; niece Kelsey; nephew Jay; mother-in-law Henrietta TeKrony; sister-in-law Joey Elenbaas and family; brother-in-law Norm TeKrony and family; brother-in-law Arlan TeKrony and family and aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved dog, Brownie.  She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvan, her father-in-law and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
