Dennis Schumacher

There will be a Celebration of Life on May 2nd from 1:00-4:00 pm at Coon Lake Community Center, 182 Forest Road, Wyoming, MN 55092. Dennis Schumacher passed away April 12, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. Dennis was born in Tracy, MN, to Roy and Helen (Longstrom) Schumacher on Nov 9, 1932. Dennis attended Tracy Public Schools. He graduated with the Class of ’50. He then joined the Navy, spending three years serving his country. In 1955, he met MaryAnn DeBlieck, and they married in 1956. They moved to Minneapolis, where he attended the University of MN, graduating with a BS Degree in Business. Many years of work in sales & real estate followed. They had four children: Dirk (Kathy), Dean (Cindy), JulieAnn, and David (Amy). In 1982, they moved to Coon Lake Beach where they purchased Coon Lake Market. After 36 years they sold Coon Lake Market and retired. Dennis was an avid hunter. He spent many years hunting with his sons and going on road trips. He was a collector and spent many hours buying and selling on E-Bay. He also spent much time with his best buddy, his dog, Sue. Dennis is survived by his wife, MaryAnn, four children and spouses, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen Schumacher; his grandfather and grandmother, Emelia and Gustaf Longstrom; aunt and uncle, Edward & Agnes Almjeld; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julius and Grace DeBlieck; and great-grandson, Dakotah Schumacher.
