Dolores Marian (Van Dorpe) was born on April 2, 1929, on the family farm near Ghent, to Camiel and Alma (Bjerkestrand) Van Dorpe. When she was young, her family moved to a farm south of Minneota, and later to Minneota. She attended St. Edward Catholic School and the Minneota Public High School. On June 14, 1948, she was united in marriage to Francis “Frank†Sussner. The couple made their home in Minneota. Dolores worked at Ed Meger’s Café during high school, and later at Dairy Lunch in Minneota, the Minneota Manor, and St. Edward School. Dolores enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She was most passionate about her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dolores died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by her husband Francis “Frankâ€, children Ron (and Shirley) Sussner of Ghent, Dan (and Kathy) Sussner of Plymouth, Richard Sussner of Minneota and Diane (and Bob) Andries of Marshall, grandchildren Michelle Sussner of Marshall, Jeff (and Nicole) Sussner of Minneota, Jayme (and Jodi) Sussner of Chaska, Jodi Sussner of Ghent, Steve (and Stacy) Sussner of Ghent, Derek (and Tessa) Sussner of Plymouth, Randy (and Michele) Sussner of Plymouth, Adam (and Kelly) Sussner of Sartell, Reed (and Angie) Andries of Russell, Mike (and Betty) Andries of Marshall, Bethany (and Travis) Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Chad (and Melanie) Andries of Ft. Worth, TX, 19 great-grandchildren, siblings Vincent (and Janet) Van Dorpe, Andrew (and Judy) Van Dorpe, Gen Ahmann, Alice Determan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bernice Fry and brother Ray Van Dorpe.
