Dolores Mary (Jacob) Vierstraete was born on August 15, 1934, in Marshall, to Gerard and Elizabeth (Doom) Jacob. She grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On April 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to George Vierstraete at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The couple farmed and raised their family southwest of Marshall. Dolores volunteered at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and School. She assisted with the CCD Program, funeral lunches and tended to the altar. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, socializing, especially talking on the telephone. She was especially fond of spending time with her family; her children and grandchildren.
Dolores died peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016, surrounded by family at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Gerry) Vierstraete Werth, grandchildren Danya and Anton, of Minneapolis, daughter Sharon (Brett) Lundberg, granddaughters Kristine and Amy, of Duluth, daughter Helen Vierstraete of Rochester, son Steven, grandchildren Jade, Jaxon and Jewelz of Marshall, daughter Joann (Kevin) Suliin, grandchildren Ahna, Jacob and Ben of Duluth, son Dwain and son Jason of Marshall, siblings Robert Jacob of Spicer, Donald Jacob of Tracy, Jeanette Bestland of Minneapolis, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, brother George and sister Marion.
