Donald Opdahl

Donald Rudolph Opdahl was born on February 9, 1945, in Santa Ana, California, to Benjamin and Alice (Grengs) Opdahl. He grew up in Minneota and graduated from Minneota High School in 1963. Don enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Minneota. He worked at several jobs including driving a propane truck, construction and most recently for the Lyon County Farm Service. Don enjoyed restoring and driving classic cars. He also enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for being a loving father and grandfather. Don died on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He is survived by his daughter Jessica (and Adam) Rau of Rolling Hills, WY, grandchildren Faith,Hope and Tanner Rau, brother Benjamin Opdahl Jr. of Minneota, Aunts Leatrice Eischens and Evon Marquardt, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
