Donata Rose DeBruyckere was born on March 11, 1939 to Edward and Agnes (VanKeulen) Caron in Grandview Township, MN. Donata was raised on a farm two miles north of Ghent. She completed grade school at St. Eloi Catholic School in Ghent. She went to high school at Central Catholic High School in Marshall, graduating in 1957. Upon graduation she attended nursing training in Aberdeen South Dakota.
She returned to Marshall and was married to Matt Henry DeBruyckere on December 30, 1958 at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent.
In 1962 Donata and Matt moved back to the farm that she grew up on where together, they raised their family. They had five children, Arlyn, Tom, Karen, Jody, and Correen. Donata valued education receiving her Bachelor degree in rural studies from Southwest Minnesota State University. She was active at St. Eloi church teaching confirmation classes and directing the choir. Donata was also active in the National Farmers Organization. She had a passion for the arts as she enjoyed reading and playing music on her organ and piano.
Donata died on Thursday February 23, 2023 at the Minneota Manor.
She is survived by her son Arlyn (Kim) granddaughters Kathryn, Jamie, son Tom (Sandy), daughter Jody (Pat) grandchildren Kayla, Katie, Ryan, grandchild John Molle, daughter Correen (Bill) grandchildren Megan and Brandon, sister Colleen (Ray) Noyes, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Donata is preceded in death by her husband Matt DeBruyckere, daughter Karen DeBruyckere-Molle, parents Edward and Agnes Caron, stepmother Minnie Caron, and an infant brother.
