Donna Mae Roles was born on October 18, 1954 in Canby, to Gilbert and Ardis (Overson) Johnson. After graduating from Springfield High School, Donna was a cook at Darleneâs Café and also at the Silver Dollar Bar in Ghent. For many years, she was dedicated to serving the best food in town, also known for her famous shrimp salad. She would continue to touch many lives through Wild Rose Health Care, working as a health care aide. She was passionate in helping her clients, who became like family to her. Her biggest joy in life was her own family. On August 22, 1998, she was united in marriage to Richard Roles. In 2002, they enjoyed an Alaskan cruise with the whole family; where many memories were formed and will be treasured from this vacation. She loved raising her two children and spoiling her five grandchildren, especially at Christmas. She would perfectly wrap each and every present. Donna would often find happiness in her favorite Hersheyâs Chocolate syrup.
On March 31, 2012 Donna died unexpectedly at her residence in Minneota. Her loving personality will be missed by many, including her husband Richard Roles of Minneota; children Melissa Hasert and Lester Bates of Marshall, Nathan Johnson and Patty Lynard of North Mankato; grandchildren Shianne and Logan Hasert, Noah Gaffer, Kierra Bates, and Josh Denn; father Gilbert Johnson of Marshall; mother-in-law Carol Roles of Minneota; sisters, Bett (Dale) Rolland of Apache Junction AZ, Barb (George) Abel of Marshall, and Joyce (Gerald) Kopet of Shakopee; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dick Hanson; mother, Ardis; brothers, Doug and infant Gilbert Jr.; father-in-law, Edward Roles; and brother-in-law, Kevin Guttormsson.
God Bless Donnaâs Memory.
