She grew up in Pine City and graduated from Pine City High School. On May 13, 1967, she married the love of her life Patrick Foley and they were blessed with 4 children: Catherine, Michael, Jennifer and Christopher. Doris’ passion for building and maintaining lifelong relationships through community service began when she joined the Pine City Chapter of the Mrs. Jaycees. Besides being a busy mom of four, she belonged to a card club, volunteered, and owned and operated Cathy’s Hallmark. Doris enjoyed any kind of gathering where she surrounded herself with the love of friends and family. In 1981, Doris and Pat moved to Marshall where together they owned and operated Ecowater Systems, formally known as Lindsay Water. Doris was a very devoted member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and school. She was instrumental in the original remodeling of Carlin Hall and the construction of the Holy Redeemer Food Stand at the Fairgrounds. She was highly involved with the CCW and was awarded the prestigious Diocesan Woman of the Year Award. She was instrumental at starting the Bike-A-Thon fundraiser at Holy Redeemer School and the Home and School Association. In 1987 Doris joined Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, in this organization she developed lifelong friendships that she cherished. Doris truly loved bringing people together, it was a special gift that she shared with so many. Doris and Pat were devoted to hockey and watching their sons and granddaughters play the game. She loved to entertain and was an exceptional hostess. Her quick wit and spunk were enjoyed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was most passionate about time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
