Doris Ann Scott

Mass of Christian Burial for Doris Ann (Kosse) Scott, 92, of Tracy, MN will take place on Friday, September 29, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy, beginning at 1:00 p.m. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Tracy, immediately following the funeral mass. A funeral luncheon will be held at St. Mary’s upon conclusion of the graveside service.

Doris Ann Scott was born on September 30, 1930 to Anthony and Mary Ellen (McCoy) Kosse in Tracy, MN.  Doris grew up on a farm east of Tracy. She attended the Redwood County District 24 School completing the 8^th grade. After finishing her education she began working on Roy Severson’s farm east of Tracy. 

She met and fell in love with Dale Scott, the couple united in marriage at St. Mary’s Church in Tracy on January 8, 1951. Together they had six children. Doris and Dale raised their family on a farm north of Tracy until moving to another farm site east of Garvin, MN. 

Doris’ family was important to her. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed to bake, read and listen to country music. Doris’ favorite artist was Charlie Pride. She attended many of his concerts. Doris always did her part on the farm whether that be providing meals or helping with gathering eggs and riding beans. She took pride in the garden she would plant every year. In her much later years she found pleasure in taking shopping trips. 

Doris died on September 24, 2023 at Avera Regional Medical Center in Marshall, MN. 

She is survived by her children Deb “Debbie” Tanghe-Dale of Marshall, MN, Chuck Scott and special friend Judy Buck of Balaton, MN, LeAnne McMahon of Starbuck, MN, Chris “Chrissy” (Kevin Sr.) Lanners of Tracy, MN; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. 

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Dale Scott; parents Anthony and Mary Ellen (McCoy) Kosse; children Loretta (Scott) Utsler and Robert Scott; granddaughter Angela “Angie” Scott.
