Dorothy Beatrice (Boerboom) Bromen was born on April 30, 1922, in Ghent, MN, to William and Anna (Stassen) Boerboom. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1940. On August 7, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Howard Bromen. The couple was married for over 63 years. Dorothy raised three children, was a world class seamstress and outstanding cook. She loved bowling and golf and was a member of the Marshall Golf Course for over 40 years. She also enjoyed trips to casinos.
Dorothy died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her son Bruce (and Sharon), daughter Susan, son Brian (and Melissa), four grandchildren, Melinda (and Dan) Meier, Steve (Heather) Blanchette, Matt (Susan) Bromen, Rachel Broman; and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Meier, Emily Meier, Jack Meier, Sam Meier, Evan Blanchette, Harper Blanchette, and Max Bromen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, three sisters and four brothers.
