Edmon Anthony Doom was born August 20, 1921 to Camille and Alixa (Lemaheiu) Doom in Ghent. The family moved to a farm in Rural Cottonwood. He served in the US Army in Japan, as a Military Policeman from 1946 â 1947. Ed married Leona Bulcke September 16, 1947 at St. Clotilde Catholic Church. From this marriage union, twelve children were born. He farmed in rural Cottonwood until retirement in 1985, when he and Leona moved to Cottonwood. Ed was an active member of his church, community and NFO. He was a charter member of St. Maryâs Catholic Church. He volunteered at the Senior Center, American Legion, and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed assisting his son on the farm, reading periodicals and newspapers, and visiting family and friends. Ed will be remembered for his sense of humor and his great enthusiasm for playing cards.
Ed is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona; his children, Andy (Kathy) Doom of St. Cloud, Larry (Jackie) Doom of Marshall, Pat Doom of Nashville, TN, Irene (Larry) Loke of Cottonwood, Tosh Doom (and special friend Melissa) of Cottonwood, Ozzie (Meredith) Doom of Stoughton, WI, Margaret (Jim) Rundlett-Doom of Fargo, Clarence Doom of Mankato, Cathy (Poobear) Gagnon of Marshall, Betty (Ron) Schoephoerster of Marshall, Marilyn (Brad) Rosa of Cottonwood, Leon (Deb) Doom of Cottonwood; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 9 siblings (3 in infancy); grandson, Braden Rosa; grandson-in-law, Andrew Carlson-Doom.
