Eldon Leslie Dovre was born on November 28, 1922, in Rural Minneota, to Knute and Annie (Rukstad) Dovre. As a child, Eldon moved with his family to a farm south of Minneota where Eldon farmed his entire career. He enjoyed farming and was a nature lover. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and animals. He also enjoyed watching television, especially sports, game shows including âWho Wants to Be a Millionaire,â and news and current events. Family was very important to Eldon and he loved his mother dearly. He was a good natured person will be remembered for whistling a happy tune. He was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church and belonged to the Farm Bureau.
Eldon died on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his sister Margaret Kurcaba of Albuquerque, NM, sister-in-law Wilma Dovre of Marshall, nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gordon Dovre, sister Phyllis Thureson and niece Patty Kurcaba.
