Eleanor (Elle) Beret Peterson

Funeral services for Eleanor “Elle” Peterson, 78, of Tracy, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN. Visitation will be from from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church Burial will take place at the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Rural Garvin following a lunch and reception at the church. Elle Beret Peterson was born Nov. 4, 1938, to Stanley and Amanda Uggen in Washington, D.C. On Jan. 31,1963, she married Winston Peterson in Tracy, and they raised three children: Sissa, Eric and Per. After graduating from St. Olaf College, she taught home economics at Tracy High School, owned her own yarn shop, a business she ran out of her home in Tracy, and together with Winston owned and operated the popular Kafe Skandia restaurant in downtown Tracy. Elle was also a Welcome Wagon representative and worked various jobs throughout her life, including as a Northrop Seed distributor in southwest Minnesota. She was a member of Tracy Lutheran Church. Peterson loved to sew in her younger years and also enjoyed planting flowers, playing cards, watching the Twins and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sister, Jan Johnson of Bloomington, and brother, Kermit Uggen of Mendota Heights; two children: Sissa (David) Bitton of Lake Maria; and son Per (Tara), also of Lake Maria; three grandchildren: Olivia Peterson of Lake Maria, Alex (Morgan) Bitton of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Galiya Bitton of Lake Maria; special grandfriends: Ben, Brady and Natalie; other relatives; and her table-hogging feline friend, Humphrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband and their son, Eric. Blessed be her memory. Thursday, July 06, 2017 11:00 AM
