Ellen Noble was born December 11, 1914, in Renfrew, Scotland, to Charles and Ellen (Moran) Meechan. When she was 10 years old, she moved with her family from Scotland to Kearny, N.J. Ellen was married to Leroy W. Noble on November 17, 1945. The couple made their home and raised their family in Little Falls, N.J., In 1998, Ellen moved to Marshall to be closer to her family. Ellen enjoyed dancing and watching basketball, Ultimate Fighting and "Everybody Loves Raymond." She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor and surprising foot speed when motivated. Even in her old age, she always had a smart comment for any situation and brightened many people's lives. Ellen died on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her son James (Carol) Noble of Marshall, grandchildren Lee and Andrew; son Ralph Noble of Rensselaer, NY, grandchildren David and Diana; daughter Ellen Noble of Camden, Maine, grandchildren Morgan and Allie; three great-grandchildren; brothers Peter and James; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and seven siblings.
